Through our full-time program, Vista Virtual School offers print-based and some online courses to elementary school and junior high-school Alberta students in grades 1-9 who are not currently enrolled in a full-time program at any other school.
Please review the Prospective Students tab for eligibility requirements, admission process, forms, and fees.
See the course listings for elementary school and junior high-school.
The Vista Virtual School website is going to be redesigned. In this process, the Vista Virtual School course catalogue will be unavailable. Until further notice, we will link you to Alberta Distance Learning Centre's (ADLC) course catalogue. For full-time students please ignore the prices for materials.
Please remember the following documentation must be present at the time of registration:
- Proof of Canadian citizenship in the form of a Canadian birth certificate or Canadian citizenship card.
- Proof of Alberta residency (students may temporarily leave the province after September 30 of the school year).
- Final report cards from the student's previous grade for elementary, junior high, and Grade 10 students, official transcript for out-of-province students.
- Medical or special needs documentation, including Individual Program Plans (IPP, IEP, Behavioural Contracts) from the previous school year, and/or psycho-educational assessments and/or medical assessments for students at all grade levels.
Upon successful program registration, course materials will be shipped to the student's Alberta residence; course materials are no longer available for pick-up in regional VVS / Alberta Distance Learning Centre campuses.
Online elementary and junior high school registrations close the third week of September of the current school year.
