Helpful resources for students and guardians new to SIS.

Students will require one or more of the following downloads (some are course specific) to complete their online courses. Some specific software requirements may include the following:
Windows or macOS
Adobe Reader, Audacity (Audio Recording), Skype, Firefox or Chrome, Microsoft Word and Excel, OR Google Docs OR OpenOffice.
Chromebook
Chromebooks are supported.
Phones and Tablets
At this time we are unable to support using a phone or tablet for your school work.
Check SupportDetails.com to determine if you have the required settings and plugins installed on your computer or device to complete your online courses.
Some students have trouble opening PDFs in a browser.
To open PDFs, we recommend that you follow these steps:
- Download and install the latest version of Adobe Reader.
- Download the PDF you would like to open.
- Open the PDF in Adobe Reader.
Moodle is the Learning Management System (LMS) where you’ll take your courses.
In Moodle, you’ll access course content like readings, and games, chat with your classmates in forums, submit assignments, complete quizzes, and complete additional activities included in your course.
You can log in to Moodle through the Student Information System (SIS) or by visiting vvs-moodle.phrd.ab.ca. Your login information for Moodle will be the same as it is for SIS.
Teamviewer Quicksupport software allows our Vista Virtual School technical staff to connect to your computer remotely, regardless of your Operating System.
