Diane Woodworth

I am a science teacher at Vista Virtual School. I am currently teaching Chemistry 20 and Forensic Science 25.

I am in my 20th year of teaching and seven years ago, I made the transition to distance education. Distance education is so flexible with respect to location and pacing. This allows our students to experience things like travelling or to participate in sport. It also allows our students more control of their program, whether that be working ahead or taking some extra time when “life” happens. Therefore, in this environment, I am always amazed by all the different reasons a student chooses our school. Hearing a student’s story is one of the things I enjoy most about my job.

My interests include travelling, kayaking, swimming, yoga, snowshoeing, and camping. I enjoy learning about the interests of my students as well, so be sure to share yours when you introduce yourself!

Diane is also the Department Head for senior high science.
