Am I an Adult Learner or a School-Aged Student?
If you are a recent high school graduate looking to upgrade a course, you may be unsure if you are considered an adult learner or a school-aged student. The following description will help you determine which classification you fall under.
Students 20 years of age, or older, as of September 1 of the current school year*, are considered Adult learners and should refer to to our Adult Upgrading page for their enrollment options.
Students 19 years of age, or younger, as of September 1 of the current school year* are classified as school-aged students and should refer to our Grades 10-12 page for their enrollment options.
IMPORTANT! If you are a school-aged student who has recently graduated and anticipates the need to upgrade a course next school year, we urge you to register before the September enrollment deadline*. It is crucial to enroll by the deadline due to funding requirements. Failure to do so will prohibit students in the 18- and 19-year-old age group from registering for courses throughout the remainder of the school year. Note: recent graduates may also upgrade a course in summer school.
