SCHOOL EXAMS

School exams are defined as your course’s midterm and final exams. Please note that students in 30-level courses must write final exams AND diploma exams.

  • Supervision

Here at Vista Virtual School, we offer three types of supervision depending on the course teachers preference:

  • Online (Proctorio)
  • Writing at our Calgary Campus
  • External Supervision

DIPLOMA EXAMS

Diploma exams are offered in January, April, June, August, and November. Adult students can write during any of the scheduled sittings.

*Students are reminded that they are expected to write their diploma exams at VVS Writing Centres (WC) for courses that they have taken with VVS. These WC are located in the geographical area of Pembina Hills School Division, eg. Barrhead or Westlock, or in Calgary. Students are asked NOT to try and register at Alberta Education’s Provincial Writing Centres.

Please note that students have until 4:00 p.m. MST on the registration deadline to register for their diploma exams. Those who miss the deadline must contact vvsupport@pembinahills.ca to be added to the waitlist.

PROVINCIAL ACHIEVEMENT TESTS (PATs)

PATs are administered annually to all Alberta students in Grades 6 and 9 and are written in the four core subjects: Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Note: registration is NOT required for PAT exams.
