Registration for the 2025/2026 school year is now open for students going into grades 1-9! 

We are proud to be the school of choice for Alberta families seeking a high-quality, flexible education. Our dedicated teachers provide engaging, asynchronous course content with clear timelines, empowering students to take charge of their learning.

We exclusively offer full-time programming for primary students in grades 1 to 9. This means that grade 1-9 students are registered for the full school year and are expected to complete their courses in June.

Compulsory core courses — Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies — are available at each grade level and Health is added for grades 7-9. Grades 1-3 use print-based courses, while grades 4-12 use online courses, with all assignments submitted electronically via Moodle. We also offer personalized learning programs for students requiring extra support. For a complete list of available courses and required materials, visit our Course Catalogue.

Students should expect to spend approximately 30 hours each week on their schoolwork. A parent, guardian, or other adult should be available to assist them.

Our courses align with Alberta’s Programs of Study and are reported to parents, guardians, and Alberta Education.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

NEW STUDENTS

If you are new to Vista Virtual School and have never been enrolled in a Pembina Hills School Division school, here’s what you need to know before registering:

• Make sure you meet all of the eligibility requirements.
• You must be an Alberta resident.
• You will be asked to provide citizenship documentation, the student’s most recent report card, and, if applicable, accommodations documentation.
• After you submit a registration form, you will be contacted by an Academic Counselor for an intake meeting.

RETURNING STUDENTS

If you are already enrolled at Vista Virtual School and need to request courses for the next semester or school year:

1. Log in to your SchoolEngage account.
2. Click on the student’s name.
3. Fill out the VVS 25-26 RETURNING Elementary and Junior High Student Registration Form (Grades 1-9).

Please DO NOT create a new SchoolEngage account as this will create delays in processing your request. 

MATERIALS AND FEES

REGISTRATION FEES

There are no tuition or registration fees for primary students.

TEXTBOOK AND MATERIAL FEES

Required materials are loaned to students at no cost, but must be returned at the end of the school year in reusable condition.

Please be advised that we are unable to send you materials for the upcoming school year until you have returned the materials from the previous school year. Not sure what to return?
